Immunization Schedule

tshirtAt Sanford Pediatrics, we believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent illnesses and save lives. We also believe in the safety of all of the vaccines that we provide in our office. We follow the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics vaccine schedule. Below you will see the vaccine schedule that we implement at Sanford Pediatrics.

  • 2 months:  DTap, IPV, Hib, Prevnar, Hep B, Rotavirus
  • 4 months: DTap, IPV, Hib, Prevnar, Rotavirus
  • 6 months: DTap, IPV, Hib, Prevnar, Hep B, Rotavirus
  • 12 months: MMR, Varicella, Prevnar, Hep A
  • 18 months: DTap, Hib, Hep A
  • 4-5 years: DTap, IPV, MMR, Varicella
  • 10 years and up: Tdap, Menactra (requires booster age 16), HPV (booster 2 months after first and then second booster 6 months after the first)
We also recommend annual influenza (flu) vaccine for all patients age 6 months and up. You can site the American Academy of Pediatrics immunization recommendations.
  • DTap is Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis
  • IPV is inactivated polio vaccine
  • Hib is haemophilus influenzae type b
  • Prevnar is the pneumococcal conjugated vaccine 13
  • Hep B is hepatitis B
  • Rotavirus just rotavirus
  • MMR is measles, mumps and rubella
  • Varicella is commonly known as chicken pox
  • Hep A is hepatitis A
  • Tdap is Tetanus diphtheria and pertussis
  • Menactra  is meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4)
  • HPV is Human papillomavirus vaccine
